The BirdieBall was developed in Colorado, USA by a father and son team of entrepreneurs, Richard and John Breaker. After two years of research and design, the two were finally ready to introduce their new ball to the public so they opened The BirdieBall Store in April of 2003 as a place for people to try the amazing device. In short order tens of thousands of balls were sold from this single location. This success led to a grand unveiling at the PGA Merchandise show where in 2005 the BirdieBall was voted 'Best New Product'.
The PGA award saw BirdieBall make headlines around the world and as a result Gaetan Obst read about the product in Sydney. Gaetan scoured the local golf suppliers for samples but only four single BirdieBalls were to be found under the counter of a Sydney golf shop. The staff didn't even know what they were and gave them away.
Later that day, after an hour of hitting the four BirdieBalls in his local park, Gaetan called John Breaker and set about bringing
the BirdieBall to Australia.
Today, BirdieBall Australia's focus remains firmly on introducing as many people as possible to the game of golf and helping existing golfers of all abilities to improve their game. We are particularly proud of our growing involvement with schools and junior golf programs.
We believe that golf should be affordable and fun for everyone who wants to play it. It should be convenient and accessible to children, adults, experts and beginners ... and golfers like us who simply want to improve their game. We believe that with BirdieBall we can 'take golf to the streets' and in doing so take the fun and challenge of golf to people who would otherwise not have a chance to play. If you think that the words 'fun' and 'golf' belong together then join us in 'taking golf to the streets'.
